i'm sure everyone has a song (or more) that reminds him/her of a certain stage in life... was thinking about this few days back and these are the few more memorable ones:
1996: 只想一生跟你走 by jacky cheung, lemon tree by tarcy su, 朋友 / 愛相隨 by emil chau, sleeping child / that's why (you go away) by MLTR
lol these songs were the most sung ones in std 6. so many times had we sat at the basketball court singing lemon tree (or 鴨子)... for no reasons. as for 只想一生跟你走, the class used to compete memorising the chorus part since it was considered a 'challenging' one haha. not to mention, almost every chinese pri sch kid at that time idolised jacky cheung and emil chau haha. MLTR was a hit back in those days, i think i still have their 'paint my love' compilation :P
1997: truly madly deeply by savage garden, as long as you love me by BSB, the day we find love by 911, i miss you like crazy by the moffats
haha all boy bands, typical high school girl XD again these were the songs that my close friends and i used to sing in a group, at school or stayovers... we even performed 'as long as you love me' in one of the leadership camps. so stupid la. i used to find lee from 911 cute too hehe.
form 1 was also the year i watched the most tv in my whole life (up till now) lol, since time in school was shorter compared to pri. sch, and less homework too. watched so much mtv and channel v... and listened to Now 3 so many times. that's the one and only Now i have :)
2001: 情非得已 by harlem yu
need i remind you of the impact of meteor garden in that year? i was one of the 'slow' ones to watch it only half a year after the frenzy started, but wasn't too impressed lol. there was actually a time i got quite sick of this song cos i heard it everywhere. quite proud that this song was composed by a m'sian though.
2003: anyone of us by gareth gates
the song that i heard almost everyday in my hall when i first came to london, and also the most played one in any gatherings we had. no particular liking for the song, but definitely reinds me of my first year in uni.
i realised i'm less and less updated with new songs these years... life is getting too monotonous!
